Meet the Team

Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Lauren Chapman
My name is Dr. Lauren Chapman and I am truly passionate about providing compassionate and dignified care to our beloved animal companions during their final stages of life.
For as long as I can remember, my love for animals has guided my path. As I navigated undergraduate work at The Ohio State University, it became clear that I wanted to dedicate my life to improving the well-being of animals and offering support to their loving families. After completing my degree in Animal Science I was fortunate enough to be admitted to The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation from veterinary school, I embarked on a fulfilling journey that led me to specialize in hospice care.
Working as a hospice veterinarian has allowed me to blend my medical expertise with my heartfelt desire to create a peaceful and comfortable environment for animals facing end-of-life challenges. I strongly believe that every animal deserves a dignified and pain-free transition, surrounded by love and compassion.
At Peaceful Veterinary Care, we strive to provide holistic care tailored to each individual animal's needs. We work closely with pet owners, helping them understand their companion's condition, discussing available options, and providing guidance throughout this difficult journey. We focus on managing pain, alleviating discomfort, and ensuring that our furry friends experience a sense of peace and tranquility during their final moments.
As a veterinarian, I consider it a great privilege to be invited into the lives of these special animals and their families during such an emotional time. I am humbled by the trust they place in me and remain dedicated to offering my expertise, empathy, and support.
When I'm not working, you can often find me in nature, seeking solace and finding inspiration in the beauty of the world around us. I believe that connecting with nature can bring healing and serenity to our lives, and it serves as a reminder of the remarkable bond we share with our animal companions.

If you’re reading this, you may be preparing for your pet’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences as you navigate this incredibly difficult moment.
There are times when we know, with heartbreaking clarity, that it’s time to say goodbye. And there are other times when the answer isn’t as clear, when doubt, hope, and fear all seem to sit together in the same space.
Wherever you are in your decision-making, please let me tell you what I already know: you are a loving and caring person. The choice to let a beloved companion go is never made casually. It is made with profound love, selflessness, and courage.
Your pet is lucky to have you.
Being an in-home euthanasia veterinarian is a path I never initially envisioned for myself. It is one of the most emotionally challenging corners of veterinary medicine. I walk into strangers’ homes each day, meet a pet I’ve never known, and gently guide their families through what end-of-life looks and feels like. Clients often ask me how I do this work, and the truth is, I don’t fully have an answer.
What I do know is that, despite its difficulty, this work is deeply meaningful. I am honored by the trust my clients place in me. I find beauty in meeting incredible animals, and peace in relieving their suffering. I believe that when it is my time to go, I will be greeted in the great beyond by all the pets I’ve assisted on their journey.
I’m grateful you’re here. I want you to know I’m holding light for you. May you find peace and clarity as you navigate your pet’s health journey.
My hobbies include: laying in bed watching old episodes of Parks and Rec, sitting on my patio in direct sunlight. If I were an animal I’d be a common backyard lizard.

Veterinarian
Dr. Samantha Cheng
Hi there.
I’m Dr. Samantha Cheng, and I’m a part-time veterinarian with Peaceful Veterinary Care. When I was an undergraduate at USC (Go Trojans!), I started my first job as a kennel assistant at a general practice clinic in my hometown of Pasadena. I fell in love with veterinary medicine and decided to pursue my veterinary degree at University of California, Davis. Since graduation I have settled in San Diego and work as an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian.
Working in emergency medicine has been very gratifying as I’m able to make a big, tangible impact in the lives of both pets and owners in very demanding situations.
However the emergency room is often also a place where pets and their parents have to part ways because a disease or trauma is too devastating to overcome. Oftentimes the decision of pursuing humane euthanasia has to be made quickly without preparation during a highly stressful situation. Helping pet parents make this painstaking decision and allowing pets to pass peacefully and with dignity has been a powerful experience and a newfound passion.
Through Peaceful Veterinary Care, I have the honor of helping families through this process in a more familiar and peaceful setting. I hope I have the privilege of meeting you and guiding your family through this difficult chapter.

Practice Manager
Stacy York, RVT
Hi, my name is Stacy, and I’m truly honored to be part of the Peaceful Veterinary Care team. It’s a privilege to provide compassionate support to both pets and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments.
My journey in veterinary medicine began as a kennel assistant, and through hard work and dedication, I eventually became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2022. Over the past decade, I’ve gained experience in general practice, emergency and critical care, and specialty medicine. I also had the honor to lead an Internal Medicine department within a veterinary specialty hospital. Every step of the way has only deepened my love for this field.
Caring for animals and supporting people has been a lifelong passion of mine, something my three-year-old self would be proud to see come true. Being able to combine empathy with medical care is truly a dream come true.
When I experienced the profound loss of my heart and soul dog, Tank, Peaceful Veterinary Care helped me through the process with grace and compassion. When the opportunity came to join the team, I was overjoyed. It is now my mission to extend that same care to others walking a similar path. I’m incredibly proud to be part of a team that treats every pet with dignity, compassion, and love.
Outside of work I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, trying new food places with my husband, and going to the beach. I currently have a 3 year old Mastiff mix rescue pup that keeps me on my toes!
